Wonderful setting and service. Food is fine but not exceptional

We had three course testing menu. Foie GRAS and gnocchi and good but tuna poke is lack of contrast. Lamb and new York steak are both over cooked.

Tuna Poke prepared by an artist.

We went to Atwater on Friday August 13, 2010, our last full day in the Vail Valley. We sat inside, near the open doors overlooking the pool on a sunny summer afternoon. I ordered the Tuna Poke with sesame rice crispy on top, yuzu, mango, avacado and jalapeno with drops of dipping sauces on the side. First of all, it was almost too beautiful to eat, I should have taken a picture of it. Then the tastes and textures were outstanding. Never had anything like it before. The chef is an artist. Service was excellent and our server truly was interested in making our experience first class. Recommend this restaurant to anyone - you will not be disappointed.

Gorgeous location, best staff in Vail, delicous food.

Absolutely LOVED Atwater on Gore Creek. It's a little bit out of the way, but take the free shuttle from the Vail Transportation Center. The view of the creek is breathtaking. The staff was by far the best restaurant staff in Vail. So friendly and accommodating. They only had a prix fixe menu, which was a great way to experience a variety of foods. The food itself was amazing. Very interesting ingredients were paired together for a truly one of a kind meal.

Truly a special meal

A wonderful meal....the best dinning experience I have had this year for sure. A fancy, well thought out and beautifully prepared dinner. Highly recommend.

Perfect last night in Vail celebration

We went to Atwater to celebrate the High School graduations of our Grand-daughter and her friend. I had booked in advance and told them of the celebration. We were seated at a table overlooking Gore Creek - the restaurant was very quiet that night so we really felt pampered. The service was excellent - for example when I asked him to put an extra cherry in a drink ordered by one of the girls, he brought a small glass with many cherries in it! The entrees were all excellent (steak, scallops and gnochi) and the tuna appetizers were deemed delicious by those who ordered it. Desserts were all very good (volcano cake, tiramasou, and Creme Brulee). It was a wonderful evening, especially for our last night and celebrating the girls' entering college.
