Lovely Food

We stayed in Vail for one night 28th June and ate here. My husband had Tasmanian King Salmon Lemon Grass-Herb Risotto, Braised Baby Carrots, Lemon Beurre Blanc. It was the best food he had ever eaten, my meal was excellent too. We had a lovely evening "Up the Creek". So glad we read Trip Advisor before we went as we would not have chosen to come here otherwise as low profile out of the way.

Poor Establishment - Poor Service - Good Food

I was amazed at the huge disconnect between the high quality of food and poor quality of service and operations at this establishment. The restaurant was about half empty on the night we attended, yet the food still took about 45 minutes to arrive. Two different tables just walked out and left prior to receiving their entrees. The food tasted very good and was really well prepared. However in my opinion it was not worth the high price. Two people, two entrees, two cocktails and an appetizer was over $150. Not a good value in my opinion. And on top of it all, the restaurant mischarged my credit card and tacked on an extra $15 tip. Very poor establishment overall. Again, I think the operations-side of this place are a disaster. Please avoid.

Fun place for outdoor dining

We had a nice lunch here, dining along the creek. It's a little pricey, but you're in Vail. The menu had good choices. There's public parking not too far from the site.

Lovely food and service

We are in Vail for one week, and have eaten lunch 3 times at Up the Creek - every meal has been delicious, and the service from the waiting staff has been great - friendly but not too friendly! At lunch the prices are very good, and the choices on the menu are excellent. We saw no sign of the conditions and state of the staff expressed in the previous review - we are over from UK, and have no reason to compliment the restaurant more than we genuinely feel is applicable!

Delicious!

My husband and I invited some to Vail residents to dine with us while we were in Vail. Not knowing the town, we asked them to recommend a restaurant or two. Both establishments did not have availability so I looked on Trip Advisor and took a chance on Up the Creek. When we arrived, we were underwhelmed by the first impression; the blaze orange "open" sign outside is tacky as is the awning and lighting. The interior was better but not great. After chatting up the host and expressing our hesitation, we decided to stay. Boy am I glad we did! Don't judge a book by its cover... truly it was one of the best meals ever. The argula pear salad was delicately dressed and the duck breast was superb. The flavors were sublime and the food was HOT when it arrived. We were too full for dessert; I can imagine it would be delicious also
