The staff was very friendly and our condo was spacious and nicely appointed but we were not prepared for the negative features. The restaurant had closed since we booked our condo and there is no other restaurant in all of East Vail so if you want a break from cooking, you have to drive back to Vail. Since we were in a three bedroom unit we were quite a distance from reception and a long way from any laundry facilities. When you are packing for skiing and airlines charge a hefty amount for luggage, the ability to do laundry is extremely important. With all the snow, it was a long, arduous walk with the laundry to a building on the main property. Free wi-fi and coffee replenishment would have been nice especially when other condos provide this. If these things are not important to you, then the Vail Racquet Club will be fine and a good value, otherwise beware! Beautiful location and accommodation but no atmosphere Reviewed by k19Bath on Jan 15, 2010 ![]() We stayed here over Christmas 2009. The location is breathtaking. Accommodation was excellent and well equiped, spacious for 5 adults, and well serviced. The outside pool and hot tub were cosy, warm and pleasant to use, even in December, although the guest lockers had to be paid for and most of them were broken. The bus service to and from Vail village was very reliable, which was a good job..... because, we found out after we arrived that the restaurant was under new management and closed during our stay. This fact was not advertised on their website and was disappointing, especially as it was holiday time. This meant there was no central bar/eatery and no festive party or social atmosphere for Christmas, a real shame. We made our own entertainment and ate out elsewhere, but I would not go back here next Christmas unless the bar and restaurant were open. Great Property for Off Mountain Lodging Reviewed by jfslenes on Sep 10, 2009 ![]() Have stayed VRC two or three times and enjoyed each immensely. If your condo is at the opposite end from the bus stop, drive up and park near the bus stop. Bussing to town saves a TON in parking costs (Vail's parking is outrageous like many other aspects). Since each unit is individually owned, some of the beds may not be what you might prefer. Having a kitchen saves another TON in dining out costs. City Market sells a chicken that makes a couple meals. Staff have always been friendly and helpful. A good hint for at least 1 night a week is to leave your skis at an on mountain ski shop for an overnight tune and wax. Gorgeous place to stay in Vail!! Reviewed by jasin22 on Apr 21, 2009 ![]() I stayed in a condo for a wedding which took place at the racquet club. The wedding was outside and just amazing. The reception was inside at the restaurant. Food and service were both top notch! The condo was very accommodating. Very neat layout, loved it! Service all around was great, no problems at all. The ammenities were great as well, loved the pool :-) I would recommend this club to anyone! |
