Denver International Airport - DIA - Airport Code "DEN"
DIA is the largest airport with by far the most flights to Colorado. DIA is one of the newest airports in the world and is extremely efficient in it's operations. Located on the northeast side of Denver, the airport is a two to three hour drive/shuttle to the Vail valley dependepending upon weather and traffic. Saturday or Sunday departures should plan for an additional 1-2 hours due to heavy Denver skier traffic.

Eagle County Airport - Airport Code "EGE"
Eagle County Airport is very convenient to the Vail resorts but has a limited number of flights, mainly during the ski season. Located just off I-70 in the western part of Eagle County the airport is a 20 minute drive to Beaver Creek and a 30 minute drive to Vail Village.

Rental Cars
Rental Car Rates & Reservations
Rental cars are available on-site at the Vail / Eagle Airport (EGE) and Denver International Airport (DEN). Advanced reservations are highly recommended for the best selection and best rates. Rental cars are normally equipped with snow tires in the Winter, but it's wise to ask and be sure. If you plan to venture off the major routes, a 4 wheel drive vehicle is recommended as the snow plows clear the major roads first! Winter driving conditions can be expected from October through the end of April.

Vail Transit and Parking Information

The Town of Vail Transit Department provides free year-round bus service throughout Vail. In fact, the town's bus service is considered to be the largest free transportation system in the country offering its residents and guests timely service to and from Vail Mountain and throughout town. Vail also provides real-time arrival information to passengers within the Vail Village, LionsHead and Golden Peak corridor useing Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) technology to track buses.

For the most part Vail is a car-free village but if you do drive into Vail Village there are a variety of different parking options available, depending on your parking needs and your budget. The parking structures in Vail Village and Lionshead offer the most convenient access to the mountain. For the 2009/10 season parking in the LionsHead and Vail Village is $25 for skier parking. The structures are free for the first hour and a half and free after 3:00 p.m until 3:00 a.m. In many cases it's more best to take the free bus from your lodge or condo For more info and current rates can be found at the Town of Vail's Transportation and Parking website.

Additionally, regional bus service with modest fares is provided daily by ECO Transit with service to Vail, Leadville, Minturn, Eagle-Vail, Avon, Beaver Creek, Edwards, Eagle, Gypsum and Dotsero.

Avon Village Transit Information

Year-round bus service is provided by the Town of Avon free Transit system, which will get you to restaurants, lodges, parks, medical facilities, recreation center, banks, and shops around Avon. Winter ski service to Beaver Creek is provided by the Gondola Express Shuttles. Frequent service is available from all Avon lodges to Avon Station where you can access the new high-speed gondola. Avon Station is also the transit hub where you may find connecting bus service to the Vail Valley communities of Beaver Creek, Vail, Eagle, Gypsum and Dotsero, plus Leadville and Minturn.

Beaver Creek Village Transit Information

Also known as DIAL-A-RIDE, provides complimentary shuttle service for all guests staying in Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, and Arrowhead village to anywhere within the resort. There are fixed routes with pickups at numerous stops throughout Beaver Creek. The shuttle circulates continuously while the ski lifts are running. After 5:00pm, please call for a pick up, 970-949-1938 or speak with your concierge to arrange a ride.

Beaver Creek Parking
Bear parking lot(s) - located at the base of the west entrance to Beaver Creek (at the Beaver Creek roundabout go west on highway 6 and take a left at the stop light). Complimentary parking with complimentary shuttle service to the Main Village.
Villa Montane - in the Main Village, off Avondale Lane. Paid parking garage for visitors from 7:00am to 11:00pm. Free shopper parking if parked less than 2 hours. If over 2 hours, shoppers will be charged from the time they enter the structure.

Ground Transportation
There are several companies that offer ground transportation with shuttle and limousine for individuals, families and group travel to/from the airports and throughout the Vail Valley. Reservations must be booked in advance for ground service from the airport to your lodging accommodations.
